The Importance of Spring

Since the beginning of time, agriculture has been vital to the survival of the human race. Agriculture feeds the people and also provides many business opportunities. The first day of Spring, also known as the "vernal equinox", is celebrated around the world. In many countries, after a long cold winter the residents finally are able to go outside and begin planting their crops. They must grow the crops to store for use during the next winter.
In the United States, especially in the regions with a lot of snow, they anxiously await spring. In Pennsylvania, Groundhog Day is celebrated by the entire state.Whether the groundhog sees his shadow or not is thought to determine the end of winter and the arrival of spring. Spring has been and will always be a new awakening for the earth and it's people.
